Resume Writing Class
Friday, February 8, 2019One of the most important services that we offer at Integrity is our Resume Writing Class. This class is designed to help current and potential clients learn how to craft a resume. The class is held each Tuesday from 9 AM – 12 PM. Intake Specialist and Career Advisor Judy McDaniel supervises the class. Her job is to ensure that clients use a resume template and input all of the relevant information in the correct format, which can be more challenging than it sounds. "You get a variety of people whose computer knowledge level differs. Beginners are nervous or scared so they need more help," Judy explains. Those who attend the class use Integrity's laptops to either create a resume from scratch or to update their resume. "A lot of our clients don't have resumes," Judy says, which makes the class an integral part of Integrity. Those who utilize the opportunity walk away with a resume that is properly formatted and that showcases their skills and experience in the best possible way. "It gives them a sense of pride to have it completed," Judy says. The Resume Writing Class is just another way that Integrity helps our clients to prepare for a job.

Three Buildings Managed
Tuesday, January 15, 2019Integrity is now managing three buildings on the Westside! CEO of Integrity, Reverend Beckham, refers to the buildings as "a campus for workforce development." Each building contributes to the mission of Integrity, "To assist those on the Westside as well as Metro Atlanta to receive training and find employment." Check out what happens at each of the three buildings:
Integrity CDC at English Avenue - 692 Lindsay Street :This building houses Door to Door Initiative and other Integrity staff. In addition to providing office space, 692 hosts a variety of events and classes, including our NET classes which take place each month.
Our NET class helps to prepare clients for employment by providing soft skills training. We also hold a job fair every other month at this facility, to help the community connect with potential employers. The building also houses our community computer lab which allows community members to utilize computers to write resumes or job search.
Westside Works Training Center - 261 Joseph E. Lowery Blvd: The 261 building is now home to two training partners: CEFGA and Per Scholas. CEFGA provides training in construction and hosts their classes in this building. Per Scholas moved into the building in January and their first IT class will begin in February. Orientation and Resume Writing classes are held on the first floor once a week.
Westside Works Administrative & Intake Offices - 283 Joseph E. Lowery Blvd: Our intake specialists and career advisors meet with clients to discuss their futures and advise them on career paths at this location. The building also provides valuable meeting space for staff members, partner organizations and corporate partners. The majority of Integrity's staff are housed here, along with case management/intake services staff.

New Programs to serve Westside Residents
Thursday, June 7, 2018Care and Conserve is a City of Atlanta program for low-income water customers that offers repairs and replaces high flow fixtures that may lead to high water bills, at no cost to the customer. In November 2017, Integrity CDC was selected as one of the three Program Managers who will lead the overall implementation of the program and be responsible for required all intake and reporting efforts. Integrity will be working with two other key program partners to implement the three main elements of this program: water conservation education, job training and plumbing repairs. The water conservation training is planned as the entry point into the program services.
Individuals can either call the office seeking services and be referred to water conservation workshop series or learn about the program from a program flyer and just come to the first workshop. A series of three one hour-workshops will center on the topics: Water Cosnervation101, Water Audit for Lifestyle change and Water Wise.
As part of our partnership with the plumbing repair contractor, participants in Integrity's Westside Net and Bridge programs will be eligible to receive plumber's repair helper training. After completing the training, plumber's helpers will complete water conservation audits and fixture installations required by the program. Plumbing system repairs will be made by the plumbing contractor.
Integrity will be hiring a dedicated project manager and case manager for this program. Care and Conserve Program activities should begin in the spring of 2018.
Door-to-Door Resident Outreach
Treena Washington and Charlie Brown recently joined Integrity Transformations as door-to-door Outreach Specialists who will work to build relationships, share information and collect data in Westside neighborhoods. Data collected from homeowners will assist with pre-qualification of applicants for the Anti-Displacement Tax Fund, sponsored by the Westside Future Fund and Brush with Kindness, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, programs. Specialists will provide brochures and flyers about life enhancement services available in the community as the topics surface or as needed.
GED Program
In conjunction with the Atlanta Public Schools and Worksource Georgia, Integrity instituted a free GED program in March. The program is open to all Westside residents that need this service and can help them improve their basic reading and math skills and elevate their TABE scores. The training consists of both traditional and online instruction. Classes are held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings at our 692 building. See our new GED Program page for more information.
